What the fuck is “Gangnam Style”?!?

(In ten words or less…)

Conversation with a LoveFilm Street Salesman (aka. How not to try and sell LoveFilm to anyone.)

  • LoveFilm Street Salesman: Hey mate! You love Friends, right?
  • Me: I like my friends, yeah, sure.
  • LFSS: No, no, no! The TV show, Friends... You look like that Chancellor guy!
  • Me: George Osborne?
  • LFSS: No, Chancellor from Friends.
  • Me: Chandler.
  • LFSS: Yeah, whatever, him. You look like him.
  • Me: OK. I've never heard that before. Is that a good thing?
  • LFSS: Yeah man! He gets all the birds, innit!
  • Me: I think it's Joey who gets all the 'birds' in that show.
  • LFSS: Who's Joey?
  • Me: His housemate in the show.
  • LFSS: Oh. So can I sign you up for a three month trial to LoveFilm?
  • Me: I've already got Netflix.
  • LFSS: Netflix is awful, mate.
  • Me: I quite like it. It's got all the TV shows I like.
  • LFSS: What TV shows do you like?
  • Me: Stuff like 30 Rock; Parks and Recreation; Mad Men. That sort of stuff.
  • LFSS: Never heard of them. Not Friends then?
  • Me: Not really.
  • LFSS: Oh, OK. See you later then.

We all live in a house on fire, no fire department to call; no way out, just the upstairs window to look out of while the fire burns the house down with us trapped, locked in it.

- Tennessee Williams - The Milk Train Doesn’t Stop Here Anymore (1963)

I miss only three things in my life; youth, cigarettes and you.

"New music" these days rarely thrills me. It just doesn’t move me like it used to.

Then, as if some quirky, pre-determined event, something comes on shuffle and my faith in music as a whole is restored. You’ve probably all been there yourselves.

This came on today; at first bringing back memories, but eventually faded to where I was no longer aware of the existence of anything else at all.

Just the music. Just like it used to be.

So, that’s what they wanted: lies. Beautiful lies. That’s what they needed. People were fools. It was going to be easy for me.

- Charles Bukowski - Ham on Rye (1982)

Such a small board… So. Many. Mistakes.
My personal favourite is ‘Red Strip’. Courtesy of my local off licence, 510 Filton Avenue, Horfield, Bristol, which doesn’t have a name. Judging by their grammar, it’s probably for the best.
Not good, not cheap. Worth a walk to get to Bargain Booze just down the road.

FRESH OFF THE BOAT! SPELLING MISTAKE AS OF 10 MINUTES AGO!

Thank you BBC website. Breeliant.

Please note, Bristol City are now losing 1-0. What a way to end a season (!)

(second update 1-1, super Ryan Taylor!)

Afternoon! Cheers for the follow, nice to see a fellow Bristol City fan on here, I think I've seen about 4 on Tumblr, and thats including you haha.

We’re in a minority these days mate, what with the nob-heads who are raised as Man United or Liverpool fans despite not being able to point it out on a map. Cheers for the follow back. Enjoying the photos too pal. Strong work.

5 defferent types of noodle? I love defference noodles. Almost as good as Remen.

Food was amazing; really tasty broth. The Sake, however, tasted like vinegar.
